Greendevil Community! Check out the amazing opportunities upcoming for all of our Greendevil families and community members. On March 19th there is a 'Lunch & Learn' at the Board of Education dealing with career and training oppurtunities in our area. There will be a 'Self-Defense Workshop for Women' on March 23rd at Greendevil Stadium Fieldhouse. Lastly, on March 24th, there's a 'Cooking With Me' class open to all students and families. Dayton High School is announcing that Laura Hall has stepped down as the women's basketball coach. Laura has dedicated 33 years to the sport of basketball. In that time Laura won numerous NKMSAA championships, had multiple undefeated seasons, and a passion for the Dayton Community and Dayton High School. Laura is a 1986 Graduate of Dayton High School and has spent her life dedicated to the community. Former superintendent Jay Brewer was quoted as saying "The consistency that you have provided to these young ladies has given them someone to count on, lean on, and to inspire them." Current athletic Justin Farr had this to say: "Laura was a pleasure to work with. She always made me laugh and I loved watching the way she went out of her way to help support her young women with anything they may need. Laura always served as a mentor, leader, and sometimes an arm to cry on for her young women. Laura Hall will be deeply missed ." Join me and Dayton High School in congratulating Laura Hall on a job well done! #wearedayton

Happy Energy Bus Thursday! The Energy Bus activity this week had students writing “I Am” statements. Students gave their self-esteem a boost with this activity by utilizing positive affirmations to encourage them to think energetically and positively about their unique qualities and attributes. By writing down these affirmations, students reinforce positive self-perceptions and enhance their overall self-esteem. #WeAreDayton

Junk journaling students attended The Whiz at the Aronoff on Wednesday evening.  Students were able to enjoy a night of exposure to the performing arts by amazing artist! Wonderful growing experience for our Greendevils!

We are happy to announce Dayton High School's February Drivers of the Month! These outstanding students were chosen based on their representation of the fifth and final Energy Bus Rule-"Enjoy the Ride." Our February Drivers were specifically chosen by their 5th period teachers, and they were all picked because they are students who understand the importance of enjoying the journey. They come to class each day with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and an appreciation for the experiences that school brings. No matter the challenge, they approach learning with enthusiasm and a smile, reminding others that success is not just about the destination, but about the growth and memories made along the way here at DHS.

Happy Energy Bus Thursday! Today's Energy Bus “We Are” activity made for another great opportunity for students to reflect and grow. Students from Mr. Taylor’s class volunteered to lead the activity for their class. The essence of the “We Are” activity lies in promoting a supportive environment where like-minded peers uplift each other rather than engaging in negative behaviors. This camaraderie not only strengthens bonds but also contributes positively to individual self-esteem by celebrating shared identities and interests. #WeAreDayton

What an awesome experience today for a large group of our DHS upperclassmen to attend The National Underground Freedom Center over in Cincinnati. These students were able to explore the history of the abolitionist movement and the ongoing struggle for human rights. By examining some of the most amazing and intriguing historical artifacts available to the public, students were able to connect classroom lessons to real-world history and contemporary social issues. Thank you to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center for an insightful and educational day. And thank you to our amazing students for representing Dayton High School in a positive way, as always! #WeAreDayton

Come out tonight and celebrate our seniors as they battle Boone County! Senior events to occur before the 7:30 tip.

The varsity Lady Greendevils put on an absolute clinic tonight in a win over Williamstown 56-30. The girls lead from start to finish and got strong performances from seniors Cassidy Harris and Emily Hall. Plus junior Lanaya Torres got it done on both ends. The girls are only getting better as the regular season comes to an end this week. Keep playing hard, Greendevils! #WeAreDayton
