The Dayton middle schoolers were grooving last night! Our 7th and 8th graders tore up the dance floor at their Disco themed middle school dance. Everyone had a great time-chaperones included! A special thank you to DHS FBLA for planning and organizing the dance so that our middle school students could create some amazing memories. #WeAreDayton 🪩💚

Happy Energy Bus Thursday! This week we created Anti-Bullying posters and signs. Creating posters/signs and displaying them throughout classrooms and hallway bulletin boards will create visible, consistent messages that foster a positive and respectful school cultures by reinforcing kindness and empathy. Activities like this provide an additional avenue to educate students about the different forms of bullying and empower them to speak up against it. #WeAreDayton 💚🚌

Tickets are $10. Tickets will be sold at lunch on Thursday and Friday!

All Dayton High School students (grades 7 - 12) will be receiving their 2nd quarter progress reports today during 6th bell and bringing home KSA testing results from May. Please take the time to review with your student/s to be aware of their current academic standing at Dayton HS and KSA test results from the spring. Thank you!
Dayton Schools is a certified Family Friendly District! @PrichardCommitteeforAcademicExcellence
Lincoln Elementary School and Dayton High School are two of only 100 schools in the state of KY that earned the Family Friendly Schools Certification in 2025!
FYI...there are roughly 1,535 public schools in the state of KY and our 2 schools earned this designation!!!!

Happy Energy Bus Thursday!! For this week's Energy Bus activity, we introduced Energy Bus rule #3: "No Bullying Allowed". Students were presented with some thought-provoking discussion questions such as, "Why do you think some students say or post negative things about others?", "What can we say or do when we hear others speaking negatively?", "How can we remain resilient in the face of negativity?" Our students were highly engaged in their classroom discussions.
Here are some conversation starter questions for families to have and discuss with your student:
1. What kinds of bullying happen most often at your school and how do people respond?
2. How would you want others to react if you were being targeted online?
3. Have you ever regretted staying silent and what would you have done differently?
4. What kind of leadership does it take to stand up for someone feeling hurt?
Finally, here's a link discussing Rule #3:

Dayton High School is very excited to be using YouScience this year to help students to identify and explore their natural aptitudes and interests. This program offers a lot of insight into potential career pathways that may be suitable for them. It will give our Greendevils a leg up when finding their strengths and improving their areas of growth. #WeAreDayton

Congratulations to CJ Soukup and Lyssa Mullins who were runners-up in the first unified tournament of the bowling season. 🎳💪💚

These three students, who were on their way home from school a few weeks ago, stopped and took this young child to the police department!!!

After yet another wonderful and inspiring Veterans Day Assembly at Dayton High School, Mr. Taylor's 7th and 8th grade Social Studies classes had some true heroes as visitors. Veterans Mr. Pat Murnahan (US Airforce, WWII), Mr. Paul Meyers (US Army, Vietnam), and Mr. Mark Tumler (US Army, Iraq) spent several periods talking to students about their military experiences and the importance of Veterans Day. Students and staff alike who had the pleasure of listening came away in awe of all these three amazing gentlemen sacrificed for our country and freedom. We are truly grateful for them and all veterans today and every day. Thank you, Veterans!

Congratulations 8th grade for winning last week's grade level attendance contest! Attendance Matters! 💪💚
